All my life I've had
a special relation to the nature, especially to the Swedish
and Norwegian mountains. I was raised with mountain hikes
and have made over 20 longer hikes in Scandinavia since
the age of six. In 1995 I wanted to prove something for
myself by spending over 50 days in the mountains, distancing
over a 1, 000 kilometers from Hemavan / Sweden in the
south to Kilpisjärvi / Finland in the north. I had
no schedule, only a flexible hiking plan and went my own
way through the mountains. It was a neat trip and a great
adventure.
Here I try to give you my very personal advices what I
think is nescessary to know before planning or going hiking
in the Scandinavian mountains. I have also choosen to
re-publish a short story from my Kebnekaise x 3 tour in
1999.
Here you'll find som advices, tips and trix that hopefully
can help you plan your hiking trip to Scandinavia. Written
mostly for the hiker visiting Scandinavia for the first
time.
In 1999, my cousin Martin and I decided it would be nice
to travel to the mountains together. Kebnekaise was our
choice since Martin never had been to the summit of the
highest mountain in Sweden.
For every trip you make - the more experience you get...
This is my summer hiking CV, not much to boast over though.
Published to let you know that I might know what I'm talking
about in my guide...
The legend say that a picture says more than a 1.000 words.
Here you'll find photographs from many places all over
the Scandinavian mountains (Jotunheimen, Sarek, Lofoten,
Kebnekaise and more).
In the early summer of 1999, I and my friend Andreas brought
an old, large analog video camera to the mountains. Here's
a scenic video from the Helags mountain area.
